How are the elements/features of a book and movie the same? Think about a time when you read a book and then saw a movie based upon that book. What kinds of things did you think about as you watched the movie? Was the movie exactly the same as the book? Why do you think movie makers change things for a movie? Do you think it’s important for movies to remain identical to the novels on which they are based?

The elements and features of a movie and a book are the same because in both things you need a main character, and other characters to go with it. A book I read that was turned into a movie was starwars: the phantom menace. I thought that they got characters to match the people in the book. Most of it was the same but other parts were kind of different. I think movie makers change the way the movies are because if the movie is exactly the same as the book then the audience would be bored.I think it's important but at the same time I don't think it should be exactly the same.

And they got in to they character so much and i like the movie.But i think the book is good like is it because i think that they mos change important details for the book.i think it important but at thesame time i don t think it should be exactly the same.And that why i agree with alberto.

The things i thought about as i watched Twilight were why were a guy named James killing people cause in the book it doesnt talk about this. I think its was half - half in the movie and in the book beacuse in the book it has somethings in the movie that arent in the book or the book doesnt talk about what the movie is showing you. I think the movie makers change things in the movie because they think about "Would people want to see this or how could we change it so people would want to see this movie". I think yes and no. I think yes because some people would like to see what they read in the book and i think no because some people would like to see something different happen in the movie,then what happens in the book.

ReplyDeleteThe features of a movie and a book are the same because they both need a problem and characters.A book that was turned into a movie that I read was gosebumps, "The night of the living dummy".When I saw the movie I was thinking when are they going to find out he's evil.The movie and the book are not the same they left out some important details.For example when she did the chant that made him come alive.The makers of the movie probally wanted the viewrs to have something to look foward to instead of seeing the same stuff they read.I think it is important for the book yo be the same as the movie because readers might like to see it on screen instead of in their own imaganation.

ReplyDeleteI thought about the movie matilda was amazing. I think that it was about the same as the story.The movie Matilda wasnt as same as the book. Some of the parts were different.The plot seemed the same.I think that movie makers change thiings for the movie is because they want it to be more interesting.They dont want people to see the exact same thing happen in the movie. That would be very boring.I think movies shouldnt stay identical to the movie.
People wount want to see the exact same thing. They going to think that the writers just coppied everything from the book. That how come I loved the movie Matilds.
I agree with Carmen. I think that people should not watch the exact same thing people should read. It is sometimes okay but not always .I also agree when she said that the elements/features of the book is the same because sometimes they have the same characters or settings. Good Job Carmen

I think because they want the kids or other people to be interested about the movie. I think yes because people would like to see what they are reading and at the same time no i think because maybe the like to see different thing happen in the movie,then what happens int eh book.

ReplyDeleteThis is compared to the Twilight Saga.Because Bella is the main character in the book and the movie.Now what I thought about was the differences like when Bella figured out that Edward was a vampire, it was different from the book.The same thing was the plot, everything was in order. I think they change things to make it more interesting, like in games of books they change the story plot.I think its important to keep it the same because it will disapoint the readers if its like really different.
@ Alberto:I agree with Alberto because I also thought that every book and movie should have a main idea. Without main character(s) the book & movie would fail.

As I watched the movie I thought of how the plot,settings,and characters are going to be the same and different in the movie and book. Well, the movie wasn't the sameas the book. They change the actions and personalitys of the characters. I think movie makers change things for a movie so people who read the book don't have to see the book. I think its not that important to have the book and the movie excatly the same.

I thought about different things like how different and the same all the characters look alike.Also, I thought about how they change the plot a little to make it more interesting. I think the movie wasn't "exactly" like the book, but it had a lot of similarities. I think they change things to make the parts that fans were boring to make them fun and cool. Yes, but not completely I think at least like 90% like the book.

ReplyDeletei think the features/elements are the same because most of the scenes in the movie are the scenes in the book.in harry potter:book three,in the second chapter harry ran away,but in the movie i'm not really sure if harry ran away.the movie exactly the same as the book,because some of the ar questions are not really related to some of the important scenes in the story. i dont think it should be identical because someone could watch the movie and take an ar quiz on what they saw.

Another reason is that the movie ,has many features from the movie like Jeff Kinney animated Kinneys doodle-style illastration for the movie.I fourth grade i saw a movie called "The spiderwike chronicles".As I watched the movie i thought would the book use disriptive words . I thought that because the movie used alot of animation .I think that the movie was not as exact as the book but it had some things that were in the book that was in the movie.I think the movie makers change things from the movie because some movie makers dont want the movie to be exactly like the book because when the movie is exactly, like the book people are not looking foward in seeing the movie if they already read the book before.I dont think the movie should remain identical beause you already read the book the your going to see many things from the book when you see the movie.

Somethings I thought about when I was watching the movie was is it going to be the same as the book. The movie was not exactly as the book.
