  2. I chose to read this article because I like to text and it really good because it taught me a lot of stuff. I think the concern the author might have about texting is that texting can let you lose track of what you are suppose to be doing and let you lose track of wants going on in school. The benefits of texting are the fact that they don’t waste that much minutes, easy way to communicate, it’s time saving and best of all instead of calling people you just text. Basically I’m in charge of texting because I stop texting when I feel like it ,but something I just don’t text at all. One important detail I found in the article was that sometimes people get interrupted when sleeping. I pick that as an important detail because some people sometimes don’t turn off their phone at night and keep it on and it always distracts them. So I advice people to stop texting

  3. I agree with Tiffany Abbey about wht texting does to you. I agree that texting distracts a person because one day, my uncle was supposed to take care of me and my sister. He received a text message in his cell phone. Then, my sister tripped and my uncle was too busy texting back to help my sister.

  4. I chose to read this article because texting is one of my top ten things to do.One concern i think the author has about texting is that if you do it while driving you could get in an accident. The benefits of texting is that you have fun and it lets you keep in touch with your friends.I am in charge of texting because i know when to stop and when to text. One important detail all sixth grade students should know is that once you become addicted sometimes it is hard to stop. I chose this because sometimes you stay addicted and you cant stop texting. You should learn how to control texting or it is going to be in charge of you!!!!!!!

  5. I agree with what Hector Alava has responded that texting has the benefits of having fun and it lets you keep in touch with friends.
I also agree what Tiffany Abby has said, texting can make you loose track.

  7. I choose this article because some of my family members texts a lot so I was concerned for them.I think the the author is concern about all the texting her or she seen are maybe they did it them selfs.so they saw that it was effecting her or him .The befit of texting is to save time and to connect easier with family members that live far from you.I don't think am in charge of texting or texting is in charge of me because I don't text and I don't like texting .A detail I think is important for the middle schoolers is texting can effect your grade, your sleeping order ,and it can cause thumb injuries.

I agree with Ishtiaq hector and tiffany you can loose track of what you are doing one time my cousin was cooking and she got a text then burned the food.:(People do loose time of sleeping and that do affect there learning . Maybe someday people will learn how to stop texting!!

  9. I agree with Hector, students and adults need to control their texting. After reading all of your responses, I am curious ... Do you think if students were allowed to have cell phones at Hyde that they would send text messages throughout the school day to other Hyde students? Or maybe their friends at other schools?

  10. I chose to read this article because i always text .I think the author is concerned that if teens keep texting they will loose track in school ,also they might not be focused one what they are supposed to be doing. The benefits of texting is that you dont have to take up so much time also you dont have to waste time calling.I am in charge of texting because I know when to stop and most texts interrupt things Im going. One important detail that I found in the article was 'it's too much when it starts to interfere with the other activities in your life like school, homework ,of sports. I think this is you need to either stop or slow down.

I chose to read this article because now I know different reasons why textring is bad and good. I learned a lot from this article. I think the author is concerned that texting is unhealthy for the teenage brain. I also think that it's starting to be a bad habbit. The benefits of texting are that teenagers can communicate in a different way. when far apart, friends can text to each other. Also, texting helps teens have a stronger social bond with thier friends or with new people. One detail that I think is importantis that kids ages 13 to 17 sent and got an average of 2,272 texts per month.I think this detail is important because now me and many other know to watch how much they text.

  12. I chose to read this article because I text everyday. The concern I think the author has for texting is that is is controlling teens. The benifits of texting are that you dint have to call so much. Also it is easier to tell someone what you have to say.I am in charge of texting. I am in charge because i only text for a few hours abd i know when to stop.

i choose this article because i like to text so i wanted to know more about texting. maybe the author was like that before her or his kid was like that before.the benefits of texting is when you are sleeping turn off yoour phone. your life dose not to be around the phone or texting.you could alway lost or injurie your thumb from texting.i think middle school students shouldn't text because they could lost or hurt a thumb.i think this detail is very important because i know people wouldn't want to lost a thumb.

  17. I chose this article to read because I want to know what texting really does to you.I also chose this article to read because I love texting my friends. The concerns I think the author might have about texting is that students might be distracted from various things such as schoolwork and sleep. The benefits of texting are that you can stay connected with your friends and family without calling them every 5 minutes.I am in charge of texting because I don't let texting take control of me.I know when to text on my cell phone and when not to text.Yet I do feel anxious to text when I turn off my cell phone because I have absolutley nothing to do.An important detail that I found in the article is that "Doctors and psychologists warn that excessive texting may be leading to a host of problems, including distractions from schoolwork, interrupted sleep, and thumb injuries caused by to much repetitive motion." I think this detail is important because students might start experiencing these types of problems and won't be able to text nor type anymore.I think it is important for students not to be interrupted during their sleep because they have school the next day and who wants to be sleeping during class? My advice to Hyde students is to limit your texting because you don't when these things could happen to you and plus we're a LEADERSHIP school!!!!

  18. I agree with Hector Alava and Myriam Lopez because alot of people in my family do text alot and texting is one of MY top ten things to do.One time my brother recieved a text message then he texted my cousin then my cousin texted her my aunt and it goes on and on and on.Whenever I have nothing to do I always text someone wether their available or unavailable.

  19. I Agree with Nickie because when texting in class you concenrate on that. also it can get you in a world of troble.

  20. I chose to read this article because I want to know how is texting bad for you. Also, I text sometimes and i want to see if i am addicted to it. I think the author's concern is that maybe she does not like to to text that much. Also, this is the reason why the author wrote this article. the benfits of texting is that instead of calling every 5 or 10 minutes, the person just send a small note to that person. Is texting in charge of you or you are in chage of texting. I think thaty every body can ansewer that question correctly. you are the one sending a mesage to thet person, not the other way around. The important detail i found is that kids between 13 and 17 text all the time. they text about 80 mesages a day!!!

  21. I agree with Tiffany because sometimes if you text, you don't get much sleep when you text. I agree with Myriam because sometimes when I text, my fingers hurt. one time when I was playing mortal kombat on my play station 2, my thumb was hurting me. Until the next day it stoped.

  22. I agree with Ms.Moloughney because if the school let us bring our phones, it will be crazy. Everybody will talk one the phone and text. By the time the teacher says there will be a test of quiz they will fail. Also that won't will be good.

  23. I was intrested in reading this article because I wanted to know if just texting is really that bad. I think the concerns the author is that kids might get too addicted to texting.Another concern the author has about texting is that kids will get hurt by texting a lot.The benefits of texting are that you keep in touch with friends and family. Also if there is an emergency then you can call them when you need them.I am in charge of texting because I only text when I really need to text someone.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I choose to read this article because the title caught my eye. When i saw the title I wondered " Is texting bad for me ? ". I think the author was concerned for our health. In the news they say that people are getting hurt because they are texting and not paying attention. I also think the author is concerned that students will not do good in school because of texting. The benefits of texting is that some people are shy and might not like talking on the phone so they can just text. Also you can talk to alot of peopel at the same time. I am in charge of texting.I only said yes to 2 of the questions. I was very close to texting being in charge of me.So now that i was close to texting being in charge of me my goal is to say yes to none of the questions. A detail that i found important is " Doctors and psychologist warn that excessive texting may be leading to a host of problems". I think that is a important detail because if kids and adult know that then they might want to start thinking about if there thumb hurt so they would know they need to slow down on the texting.

  25. I agree with Kevin because texting can get you into alot of trouble. Once one of my good friends was texting in class when we was reviewing for a test. When the test came backk to us and was graded my friend failed.

  30. I choose to read this article because i text alot myself and i wanted to know if it was bad for me.I think the author is concerned about the outcome of teen texting. The benefit of texting is that you can keep in touch with your family without running out your mintues (prepaid). Texting is not in charge of me because i know how to control my text obsession .The sayin "Texting in the class rooms is on the rise" should be known to every teen because they prabably wondering why their grades are so bad .If they dont pay attenion how would good grades come in .

    ReplyDelete
  31. I agree with Hector Alava because texting is 1 of my top 10 things to do.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I agree with Zainab that it is good to text your friends because if you was absent in school and you need homework you can get it. texting is better than calling because some people dont have phones and they can go on meebo or air aim on a computer.

    ReplyDelete
  33. i agree with zainab and hector because texting is one of my top ten favorite things to do.One concern i think the author has is to see how many people text in one day.The benefits of texting is to try not to text alot and be more focus on your schhol work.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I agree with Tysai Washington because if you are absent you can IM/text your classmates if you need the homework. So therefore, texting is helpful in some areas of your life.:!:.

  35. I choose to read "Is txting 2 much bad 4 u?" because I like to text. It's a great way of communicating with other people. My family, friends and I send 80, usually more text messages a day. Some concerns I think the author has is that for some kids texting gets in the way of doing their daily routine. Some kids even stay up all night texting. Since they stay up that late they are tired during the day and may not pay attention during class. Some benefits about texting is of course it's a great way of communicating with each other. Also because maybe you're busy and you can't be talking, you could text the person rather than talking. My sister likes texting rather than talking on the phone because she thinks it's easier. I don't like calling because I get bored talking for after a long time. I'm in charge of texting because when I feel like texting I do, if not I don't. A very important detail I found in the text was that kids get interrupted in their sleep by texting. I think it's important because it keeps you and the person you're texting awake. Also because when you sleep that's the time when you should relax. People should either stop or slow down their texting.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I agree with Tiffany when she said that texting saves you minutes. I also agree when she said that texting makes you lose track of time.

  37. I agree with Myriam because sometimes I get concerned about my family members. Sure I text alot but not as much as them.

  38. I chose this comment because texting is fun and you can aim people and its so fun. I think it's important because it keeps you and the person you're texting awake.Sometimes when i get bored i will text.

  40. I wanted to read this article because it made me think why texting is bad for me? Also the concerns I have for the author is may say that texting can bring people together but can go bad. The benefits of texting are not doing well in school, getting addict, and non-stop texting. But I am in charge of texting. Also I don’t have a phone.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I think that is texting to much bad for you is an interesting story because it tells you that if you text to much you will continue to text and texting in class is not good because you won’t get a lot of information for a test or any kind of quiz and that story really helped me because it teaches me not to text a lot. I chose this article because I like texting and I wanted to know what they were talking about when they said texting is bad for you. I think the authors concerns were to tell you that texting might be to bad for you.

  42. I wanted to read this article because I wanted to know is texting really bad for you.I think the author is concern for us because he thinks students are doing bad at school because of this. The benefits for texting is that you can communicate with others.I am not in charge of texting and I don't think texting is in charge of me.What I think was important was how you can injure your thumb. When it comes to stuff like that I think it is a serious matteer

The athour's concern was that she wanted to know why some people are scared to turn off there phone. I choose this article because I am addicte to texting. The benefits of of texting is you can't learn or sleep. One thing I think is important to every middle school student is that you are in charge of texting, texting is not in charge of you.

I chosse to write this because my mom textes alot. She texts my dad and my aunts and uncles and friends. Texting is infact bad for you because it occupating your time. You could be doing other things. There are other ways you could stop texing you could think about all the money you are wasting.

  60. I chose this article because I was curios about why is texting bad for your for me. I think the author got a son or a dauther that are teenagers and they text to much on there phone and when he tells them put the phone away they dont lisen they are just texting. the benefits of texting is being adeted to texting and when there parents take it away they still are predenting there really texting until there parent give there phone back and do not say sorry or not say thank you they just go sraht to texting.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I choose this article because I like texting, it's fun. I agree with Tiffany because texting is fun, also because it saves time instead of spending like an hour on the phone. I also agree with Adriana because I do wish people would stop texting, like my cousins when they text they can't stop texting. My concern of the author is that he/she was adicted to texting, and he/she is trying to over come texting. The benefits of texting are saving time, and you can stick to what your doing. I'm in charge of texting. I took the quiz and all of my answers were no. An important detail that EVERY middle school student should know is that doctors and psychologists say that texting is a DISTRACTION to all learning, it INTERRUPS sleep, and causes thumb injuries. This detail is important because it tells you right there, text very little and DONT GET ADDICTED!

    ReplyDelete
  62. I choose to read this artical because I am adicted to texting an I want to know what goes on when I text text to much.
